Memento Mori
You meet so many people in life. Sometimes it's hard to remember their names. You walk around the streets and see faces that seem familiar. Some stare back at you like if they remember you from a fading dream. We all change as we age, some more than others what stays with us are memories. Memories are supposed to keep you content. They don't! On sleepless nights you remember those who are no longer with you. Especially the people who you never got a chance to say goodbye to. We start each day anew and try to become better by altering our lives based on those memories. Every good and bad day is a part of us till we meet our maker. Till that day we struggle some more than others to not become lost or consumed by our past. Looking towards tomorrow for a brighter day just brings about another memory that we will have to one day replay.
A random poem/ramble I wrote one sleepless night
Let’s look
at your life since its full with much strife.
Questions
you’ll ask for answers you seek.
Alone in
your thoughts you look inwards and
outwards at
those that surround you.
Blood calls
to blood yet a father lies abandoned.
The mother
who gave life gives her affection,
though
pulls your faith towards one of their making.
A sibling
long gone comes back full of knowledge.
Resentment
not anger stems from your heart.
The past
and the present are one.
Madness
with sadness stem from one closest like kin,
a distance
exists when two were like one.
Scarred
with no blemish, one full of spirits lies
Down with a
sinner and is no longer thinner.
One full of
light walks in the night,
a shadow
corrupts the battle is lost.
One
surrounded by greed fights for the
meek so
they can be freed,
A question
was asked an answer was given.
The Knot is
now broken.
Dreams of
the future are filled with the past.
Backwards
and forwards are paths you can take.
Which way
will you go?
To plan
your own fate.
