You want to remake that ?

Originality is great when its found in movies, books or T.V shows. The funny thing is that there is always someone out there who is not happy with what is out there. This leads to remakes of any type of concept imaginable. Technology has gotten better since certain projects were first brought to life but sometimes that doesn't mean its going to be a great idea. I remember watching the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a young kid and it was a great film. A few years ago they remade it starring Johnny Depp, I have yet to see it so I can't say anything negative about his portrayal as Willy Wonka. Then of course we come to Spiderman which is already in process of being remade with the story taking another direction then the one that came out back in 2002. The big debate in that whole project is wither they should cast Peter Parker as a minority. It has been done with other characters and it seems to have worked out fine. I really don't mind who plays Spiderman, but what I do care is that are so many other characters in the marvel universe who are just as interesting and have a story to tell. This blog was meant to be longer but damn its to hot to write anymore. My last thought on this whole concept is this come 15 years from now will we see a whole other version of Harry Potter on the big screen or maybe the Twilight saga?

Perchance do you remember your dreams?

Dreams have fascinated people for a very long time. In ancient times in was believed that dreams were  messages sent by deities. In modern times we believe that there a way for the subconscious to sort out anxieties or other problems that we cannot deal with when we're awake. Day dreams on the other hand are completely different and will not be examined in this blog. The average person has five or six dreams a night but usually remembers the one prior to waking up. Some people after a period of time can learn to manipulate their dreams to an extent.

I believe that dreams are so much more than what modern science can explain. In the book of Daniel in the bible, the protagonist of that scripture was able to interpret his dreams and save himself and eventually rise to power. Prophets in different religions have had dreams that may have been inspired by god.On the other hand they may have been tapping into some dimension that while not understood by science today was known to be accessible while you slept. Deja vu is experienced by many people and while they may not know how they have that familiarity of a person, place or thing. I suggest that this sensation is a result because of the dreams they had. In my own life I have often seen things that triggered memories of forgotten dreams that have depicted the events I just experienced. Some my laugh or mock me at this point but think back for a second to someone you know who has mentioned a similar experience.

The realm of dreams is esoteric in nature. We can never be sure what dreams are because they cannot be measured directly. Some day there may be a way to do so. Dreams are a part of us and while you may not adhere to what I belief they are, you can say that they offer a glimpse into the innermost working of you soul. If your interested in how dreams are portrayed in literature I suggest you pick up the series The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. As a bonus to my readers enjoy this poem about dreams.

Dreams are where you relive memories,
a special time gone forever.
Dreams can take you to far away places,
that are only there while you sleep.
Dreams can make you smile or make you cry,
but when you wake you must say goo-bye.
Dreamers can be what they want to be.
Dreamers are you and me.

Dreams are where you can see things,
that can no-longer be.
Dreams can take me to you,
no-matter where you are.
Dreams can make me smile or make me cry,
I never want to wake if I have to say good-bye.

Dreams can let me see you,
To touch you and hold you.
That's the only time I can be with you.
That's all I have left of you.
But I'll see you tonight in my dreams.

Oil equal big bucks and the average citizen gets screwed!

Its been over a month and a half since the oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico. This disaster is worse than the one that happened off the coast of Alaska back in 1989. I will not get into all the news on the current oil spill here because the link I provide will do a better job. Many people will reflect back on this and think about the ways that it could have been prevented. Well here's one stop using so much OIL. Honestly nothings gonna get done sure BP will pay fines and act like there all playing nice but they have deep pockets. I hate to say it but the only way this could be prevented is for a similar catastrophe to happen and it ends up directly affecting people. BP cant make the proper amends to all the fishermen and the lost profits that they will incur years from now. Damn even when the oil leak gets capped that whole area is still gonna take years to recover. Lets play the blame game and call former president Bush out on his dependency on OIL.Yes OIL which is one of the reason why we went over to the Middle East under the pretense of WMDS which have yet to be found. We have only begun a new decade but the way humanity acts will we be around much longer?

This has been a public service announcement. Have a nice day :-)

Technological Revolution

The millennium occurred 10 years ago. Y2K didn't happen and were not living in some post apocalyptic world. In that span of time we have experienced a technological boom. Cell phones are common nowadays but take a step back to 2001 when they were slowly starting to become mainstream. In high school I remember that it was a status symbol to actually have a cell. The most common model was the Nokia 3320 and the carrier was t-mobile. Look at the phones we have now the current model I have has a faster processor than my first computer. Just recently the latest model came out for Sprint which is the first phone to be able to use a 4G network and has a a nice camera as well. I can't forget to mention the Iphone or some people I know will get mad at me.

TVs and Radios were the only ways that we could get our media but with new sites and programs popping up every day online we can stream TV shows or download music in seconds. The forerunner to downloading music and other files was the popular Napster which is still around but not in the same form thanks a lot Lars. Many feel that illegally downloading programs is a crime. Personally I have mixed feelings about this. I have known people who have made a profit back in High School by burning play lists for people and selling them for 3 to 4 dollars. That's quite a difference compared to a CD that sells at Best Buy for 9 to 15 dollars. The same can be said of movies. Technology will continue to advance and become more compact in some cases as we start to go nano on some components. Yet you have to wonder will we become enslaved to technology because we relay on it to much.

P.S: No they call us crazy," Jobs said.
Here's a second link that I think was funny.
